Quite a few DEEP groups are engaging in outdoor activities including walking groups and growing projects. Some of this may be down to the need to be creative in the times of COVID restrictions – but to get it right might feel like a minefield.
Kath Pyke, Project Coordinator from Dementia Adventure www.dementiaadventure.co.uk supports organisations to set up their own outdoors and nature programme by working closely with local community groups. She co-facilitated this session with Michelle Candlish and Anna Harrison who facilitate groups in the DEEP Network. .
The aim of the session was:
* To hear from everybody about different outdoor activities.
* Share good practice
* Consider what things you need to think about and put in place to make the most of the experience.
* Think about some of the things maybe you haven’t thought about
* Problems and possible solutions.
