“Despite having dementia I am ‘still me’ and have a meaningful life.
I want to get rid of the stigma around dementia.”
Still Me is a new local initiative, supported by Warrington Speak Up, aiming to strengthen the voices of people living with dementia in Warrington.
Working in partnership with people living with dementia, carers, community groups and organisations we aim to collate views, themes and experiences. We recognise people living with dementia want others to know that they still want lives that are meaningful and full. They want to end the stigma attached to the word ‘dementia’.
Our findings will be fed back to the Warrington Dementia Transformation Board who are looking to improve dementia care for all in Warrington.
We are supporting the establishment of a Warrington DEEP group for people living with dementia and their carers.
Additionally, we are looking to establish a network involving organisations and community groups within Warrington where ideas, resources and expertise can be shared to make a difference for people living with dementia in our community.
The first meeting of Still Me is due to take place:

Time: 1.30 – 3.00 pm
Where: Pause Listening Space, The Gateway Building, 89 Sankey Street, Warrington, WA11SR
Meetings will then take place on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday every month.
