Dementia in Prisons Research

Here is a message from Kate Stalker about what looks like a fascinating taking part opportunity.
“I’m a researcher at the University of Manchester and we are beginning our research into dementia in prisons and how we can support people with dementia living in prison.
We are currently recruiting for our experts by experience group to provide us with guidance throughout the research. Could this be you?
Over 1000 people living in prison in England and Wales are likely to have dementia or mild cognitive impairment.
DECISION is a training and care package that supports staff on how best to help these individuals.
We are going to two prisons to see how DECISION works.
We are currently including individuals who have experience of dementia or living in prison in our experts by experience group.
We would like to invite individuals with either of those experiences to help guide the research.
Please contact for further information or to join the group.
Thank you and kind regards”

Taking Part opportunities have not been moderated in any way. We do however ask for requests to be sent using our template (to view template click here) – to try to make sure that researchers and others are working in an ethical and straightforward way.

But if you have any concerns/questions, make sure the researcher or organisation
answers them before you agree to be involved in any of these opportunities.
