Well … the dust is settling after a very busy time and I am now trying to get ducks in a row for the last five months that I am in post.
I have a couple of things I needs to ask of you of you if haven’t provided them already.
- Your group name
- Contact person
- Contact telephone
- Website
- Social media
I really need this information as soon as possible.
This is because we are changing the way people can connect with groups through the DEEP website and the group pages will no longer be available from the end of September.
Secondly – If you receive too may copies of Our DEEP News (or not enough) please do let me know.
I wanted to let you know that I am currently working on a few pieces of work to watch out for.
- Knowledge is Power England
- Transcripts and resources from the 2 Facilitator Events (including a frequently asked questions).
- Reviewing all of the DEEP guides -if you can see a gap in the resources we have on the website please do let me know.
News
On the DEEP website we encourage you to keep an eye on, and contribute to, the Latest news and Taking Part pages. I aim to put all the news and opportunities that comes my way here – especially over the coming months.
Our DEEP News – unfortunately we are only able to produce 2 more editions of Our DEEP News this year. We have had a limited pot of money over the last four years, which is now running dry. Postage hikes has really challenged our budget – but we do feel it is really important to provide hard copies for many DEEPers who don’t access the internet. It feels more important than ever that as facilitators you can share what is only available to view on line with your group members who would otherwise not find out about stuff.
The editions for autumn will be:
- August/September/October (deadline 13th September)
- October/November/December (deadline 15th November)
We have had a few questions arise which would be great for discussion in the coming months including: *Dementia Inclusive (friendly) screenings
*public liability
*fundraising
and many other things….
Join our DEEP facilitator Zooms on the following dates:
Wednesday 23rd August, 27th September, 25th October and 22nd November.

The sessions will take place between 12.30 and 1.30pm
I will send out reminders before the time, but it is such a valuable opportunity to connect with other DEEPers far and wide across the UK (and further afield) to chew the cud…share, learn, support and cross pollinate!
