The DEEP United in Meirionnydd members had an excellent meeting with Patrick Jones co-creating poetry based on the members experiences and will also be part of the intergenerational event at Bangor University in April- sharing their enthusiasm for tackling stigma and educating the next generation about living with dementia. Members from DEEP in Deeside and the Halcyon Quest group have also been guest speakers at the 10 days of Dementia training for Denbighshire County Council staff sharing their own experiences and views on communication, meaningful activities and young onset and the feedback from all the sessions have been extremely positive. Looking ahead we hope to arrange opportunities to host events that will share information on tackling scams, secure banking and other useful advice – details will be shared as plans are in place.
