The Workshop
‘How can we improve the experience of living with dementia?’.
We want to learn from you: the experts.
There will be no more than 30 people attending
IDEAL is a research programme that studies how to improve the experience of living with dementia. We would like to share what we’ve learned from lots of people living with dementia and their carers and see how that compares to how you feel about living with dementia in your local area.
It’s your chance to tell us what life with dementia is like where you live. So the questions we will ask are:
What is good about living with dementia in your local community?
What could be improved?
What do you want people in charge of local services to know?
What action will be taken if any?
We will be taking notes of what everyone says, writing this up and sharing the recommendations which come out of the workshop.
We will make this freely available online so that everyone can learn from it.
However, we will ensure that we share your feedback with local councils, local services and healthcare providers in North Wales. We want your words to be heard and to mean something.

These workshops are part of an larger project.
We’ve developed a new opera called ‘Y Bont/The Bridge’ about the experience of living with dementia. The main character is a man living with young-onset dementia. We watch him realise something is wrong, through to diagnosis, through to living with dementia. All the time, the people around him can make this experience better or worse. They do not always listen to him, or hear him.
This is the world premiere of this new opera and we would love you to come along.
The opera performance at 7.30 pm (arrival by 7 pm)
