Thanks to an award from The National Lottery Community Fund, we are able to offer a series of webinars for participants to become facilitators of the Getting Along programme.
This fully funded training offers you the chance to:
• Understand the rationale for a relationship-centred approach to dementia
care.
• Understand the broad impact of the presence of a dementia within a family
and the network of relationships around it.
• Be able to reflect upon the content and impact of their own contact with
families living with the presence of a dementia
• Be able to use simple methods to observe, capture and respond to
interactions within the informal care-giving setting
• Be able to address and have a clearer understanding of both sides of the
care-giving relationship.
• Be familiar with the practicalities of delivering formal Getting Along
sessions from introduction to final visit.
• Examine potential challenges and pitfalls throughout the process and how
to respond to these
• Begin to adopt strategies and implement plans to equip people with
dementia and their families live well and better with dementia within the
context of your own organisation/area of work.
