A new group has been launched in Brecon by Frances Isaacs. The group will meet in The Hours Bookshop in Brecon every other Thursday from 5pm to 7pm. Frances invited her pals – Dory from DEEP in Deeside and Wendy Mitchell from Minds and Voices in York for moral support. Wendy was interviewed by her playmates about her book ‘Somebody I used to know’ and they shared the impact that it had on them. You can read and hear Wendy’s poem about their friendship:
Raucous laughter
Hugs galore
Greetings like old friends
Sad no more
Talking about anything
Personal, this and that
Sharing secrets
Amongst the chat
No need for Time
To kindle this friendship
An instant bond
Our very own kinship
Who are these people
These three dear friends
Not long ago were strangers
Now dementia has brought them
together like contented bookends….
