An update from Di Burbidge at Chinese Wellbeing in Liverpool.
“Since our Dementia Champions have returned from furlough they have been busy catching up with our Network members.
For those who are digitally connected, members have been accessing our Evergreen Club weekly online activities. As an organisation, we have also ensured that for those without internet connection, they have been receiving weekly welfare calls.
Rita and Julie have been engaging members in more detailed discussions about how they have been coping and if they require any additional support over the next 6 months.
Whilst Liverpool City Region is more or less back in lockdown and the reopening of the Community Centre has now been pushed back even further, feedback from our Network members is that they want so much to resume face to face activities and would be very willing to attend the Centre despite rising infection rates! I think this is a clear indication of how people are feeling right now.
In reality, we cannot see the centre opening this side of Christmas . With a further period of restrictions, we are hoping to be able to get more Network members online and have several options we can pursue.
We will keep you updated on progress.”
